SB House of Mahjong offers personal small group tuition of Hong Kong Mahjong. Our sessions are thoughtfully curated, supportive and joyful. Every Mahjong table has its own etiquette and quirks, all you need to play is a sense of humour.Â
At the heart of our approach is our house rule of play: keep it simple.
Our motto is one hand is for your tiles and the other is for your drink of choice.

Hong Kong Mahjong is not played in pairs and there is no book or card directing your every move. Instead, Samantha, the tiles and a little luck will guide you through each round. Every lesson will build confidence and a deeper appreciation for the game.
Whether you are brand new to Mahjong or already playing, there is always a seat for you at our table. At SB House of Mahjong, we celebrate every gorgeous winner and let them have their moment.

The Fundamentals
Navigating your first Mahjong table

This customised package introduces you to the essentials of Hong Kong Mahjong, and the importance of polite table etiquette. You will learn the unique language of the game, how to 'Mahjong', and to calculate basic scoring from tiles, actions and hands.
Your personal package includes 3 two hour sessions for 4 players, held weekly. The first lesson can be held in-house, and then we can bring the tiles to you. Complete notes are provided by SB House of Mahjong.

Mahjong 102:Â
Connects Hong Kong Mahjong with advanced point scoring
Your Mahjong tiles, your play and your hand determine your points in each round. Understanding where your points come from gives you the confidence to 'Mahjong' at any table, with any point-play minimum.
This is a two-hour tutorial for up to 8 players who are of a competent playing level. This session can be played in-house or easily bought to you. Complete scoring notes are provided by SB House of Mahjong.

Your celebration takes on a new level of sophistication and fun when you invite SB House of Mahjong to co-host your baby shower, bridal shower, or special family occasion.
